Earth Gov rose out of the ashes of the devastating third world war, a war which consumed countless millions of lives. When it was over, the total toll was estimated at just under 2 billion killed, with countless more injured or irradiated. Had the war continued, there is good possibility mankind would have destroy itself, but due to the intervention of the Vesudans, who strong-armed the combatants much as the dominant Vesudan faction had in the Vesudans' own great pre-FTL civil war, the Third World War was not humanity's last stand. It would take generations before all parties would forgive each other for the massive bloodshed on all sides.

With the help of the Vesudans, Mankind quickly moved to the stars. Thanks to new booming space industries, Earth quickly got back on its economic feet, and in  time became a important player in regional politics. Nearly 4 centuries later, Humanity leads the region politically and militarily, making Earth Gov one of a few major governments that control most of known space.

Although humanity has not united under one flag. Humans are lead by 3 distinct factions, remnants of WW3, all with unique agendas, plots and schemes, all striving for total control.  But as things stand Humans, are work together when things effect the entire race, and when such an event does happen, such as the Sejutan War, man fights together under Earth Gov. Earth Gov maintains most of the diplomatic power, and any most treaties with aliens usually affect 3 powers. It has been many years since a true conflict between these 3 powers, there is always that hidden agenda. One never knows what may come to pass in the near future...

The more things change, the more things stay the same: the military, then as ever, was the principal force behind human technological innovation. Through colonial wars, and a few major territorial disputes with the Hillari, the Earth Gov military developed many technologies, useful both on and off the now proverbial battlefield.

The modern peace times are going especially well, with the civilian commercial sectors booming just as the military contractors prospered during years of conflict. Border regions are filling up with new colonists, and Human scouts are ever pushing towards the unknown regions of the south-east, and hostile west, and south and making peaceful pushes north into the unclaimed space between Human, and Vesudan Borders.

Humans are a force to reckoned with, for their determination, stubbornness, and skill. They have over the last 200 years been the fastest growing power in known space, and continue to advance at astonishing rate. Humans will make their mark on the galaxy, and will forever change it...
