The Vesudan Confederation was founded in the earth year 1837, when the major powers which fought over there star system (they fought for the home world, its moon, and only other habitable planet in their star system) decided to end nearly a 2 decade war. The war was between the 4 leading powers, which each controlled one of the 4 continents. The largest power supported peace and progress, the 2 middle powers were at each others throats for as long their was written history. The smallest power was known for its espionage attempts at trying to start a planet wide war, so it could reap the benefits, and it did, starting the 20 year war, but was pulled in by one of medium powers to take on the biggest. The war eventually ended by the largest power, who threatened the others with some very dangerous weapons of mass destruction, which if actually used, would have totally disrupted there planets tectonic plates, tearing the planet apart.
The formation of the Confederation was not easy, and nearly turned back to war in less than a year, but was avoided. In the years that fallowed things went well, and due to the strongest power wining the war, the Confederation was more or less run their way. They pursued peace, and science, threw military might and have been ever since. They Kept their warrior ways, and it is still a great honor, to server within the military for long period of time, and have mandatory 4 military service. In the earth year 2144 there was a major confrontation with the Murac, thou war was never declared, both sides lost hundreds of ships over a 30 year period.
Now the two powers have come to an agreement, that it is pointless fighting each other for 2 reasons. One is that over that 30 year period they developed such great technologies to counter each others weapons, and defenses, making it a near perfect draw in terms of who has the stronger military. The second reason is that rumors of much more dangerous and power enemy to the galactic south west may be coming to power...
The Earth Gov government which the Confederation helped bring to power, ends up being a major allie, and help each other in times of need, providing economic and medical aid, and on some occasions industrial aid. This alliance, has brought diversity, wealth, and prosperity to both governments.
